**Team vans will leave 8 am from rec center on Saturday/ plan to pre-ride at 4 pm at venue (drive is 6.5-7 hours via 285/Leadville). We'll try to get out of there by 3 pm, but will call from road for a better eta into Durango.
**Course beta: It is fast, not very technical. One punchy climb. Mostly in aspens with about 50% dirt road. A bit of new cut trail in lumpy grass. 2 laps or 10 miles for fresh, soph and jvgirls, 3 laps or 16 miles for jv boys and varsity girls, 4 laps or 20 miles for varsity boys. Altitude is 9,000 so it favors our Durango mountain kids! Fun, fast laps. Lots of passing.
***List of what to bring:
Warm layers to pre-ride and warm up in (I'll have a back pack at start line to ditch clothes)
Rain Jacket: looks like 40% both days (high of 77 and low of 46/ temp when girls start will be around 55 degrees which is a hard temp to dress for!
Money depending above
Snacks, lunch for Sat and Sun
Sleeping bag and pad (even if you get a bed, you may sleep better sharing a bed if you have your own sleeping bag!
Headlamp/flashlight
Tuned bike, helmet, shoes, flat tire change, etc.
Waterbottles with your NAME on them
Any cheering devices like bells, whistles, costumes....maybe Garrett will be a cow again
Team jersey
Usual stuff like toothbrush and special blankies... all large size stuffed animals will get strapped to the roof so plan accordingly :)
